Throughout my career, I have collaborated with top-tier companies like Nokia and Gabriel’s Pizza to enhance the user experience of their digital products. This has involved designing and refining websites, mobile apps, and software solutions, as well as creating custom UX patterns that address the unique needs and challenges faced by these high-profile clients.

Nokia Topology Application

Overview:
Redesign and redevelop an existing application from the ground up that would help engineers monitor, identify, and reduce downtimes for clients and customers to ultimately improve service, user satisfaction, and profits.

Problem:
Users were having trouble navigating, filtering, organizing, and distilling information in the topology view of the application. This led to increased downtimes, which resulted in lost revenue/minute and reduced customer satisfaction and retention.

Solution:
My main directive and responsibility for the overall application was to develop new topology designs and UX patterns to monitor, organize, and commission large, scalable data sets of geographical elements. I created a system of progressive disclosure and negative interaction states to enable a user to only focus on relevant information, while always allowing them to reveal further details and maintain context in the overall network.

Nokia Video Analytics

Problem:
Design and develop an application to monitor city cameras to leverage smart capabilities, AI, and machine learning to reduce traffic, crime, and other issues larger cities may encounter.

Solution:
Working directly with engineers, developers, and potential clients, I created custom UX patterns for topology / video monitoring systems with user and machine-learning defined pre-sets, history timelines, tracking, and real time reports & dashboards.

Visual Design Systems

Overview:
Develop a cohesive branding package, colour theory, and icon library to establish guidelines and tools that promote consistency and efficiency across all our team’s digital products, and result in a superior user experience across all Nokia CSF Products.

Methodology:
By focusing on user testing of our previous products, I worked with a team of junior designers and developers to identify pain points, and inconsistencies in our component designs. Over several months we used rapid prototyping in both Sketch and Figma to redesign and redevelop elements and used colour theory and behavioural patterns eliminated these issues and create a more comprehensive foundation and library.

Overview:
Design and develop a competitive, cross-platform online ordering system and website for an expanding pizza franchise located in Ontario.

Problem:
Prior to this online system, the primary method for placing an order was only through telephone to the Gabriel’s Pizza order centre. This was then relayed to each respective store. As people become more familiar with online ordering through apps and websites and gravitating towards reduced human contact, Gabriel’s found their market share shrinking in favour of competitors who offered these services.

Solution:
Through months of user-research and on-site interviews with franchise locations, order call centres and customers, I helped lead a team of designers and develops to redesign the client’s website and develop a custom order system which would communicate effortlessly with the pizza store locations and the call centres to effectively track orders and reduce human interaction and human error for the customers.
